Fair Salary for Chinese Mainland?

I need to employ an experienced person to check out furniture factories for me in China. Most of them Are in Foshan so I would like to find a person who lives there. What would a fair salary be for a person doing this job at that location?

Factory workers for Apple products make $150 US Dollars per month, plus overtime, close to $200 USD. They work 40-60 hours a week.

Rural part of China averages salary at $2.50 USD/day.

The riches of China are 0.001% of the population and they want to move out of China.

A lot of Hongkongers still cling to the days being a member of the colony and long after the handover in 1997, they still think they are above all other Chinese. Some of them even deny being Chinese but see the stupid notion of "Hongkongers" as a separate race / nationality, and when asked, they say they are Hongkong Chinese with an emphasis on the word "Hongkong"! Indeed, many westerners simply don't care, some westerners don't even know how to pronounced "Hongkongers"! Much like the way I don't care whether a German is from the former East Germany or the former West Germany. If there's anyone who really cares, it's only some of these Chinese living in the former colony. I am a Chinese born and live in Hong Kong and work with westerners. I have never met a westerner who intentionally tries to distinguish between an islandic Chinese and mainland Chinese like it really matters. To them, we are all Chinese. Much like the way we don't care whether an american is from Texas or Alaska. It's the silly yearn to be above the rest (like in the colonial days) that prompts some Hongkong Chinese to try so hard to distinguish themselves from the remaining 1.3 billion Chinese and to make a world-wide proclamation that they are not from the north. If a westerner asks me where I am from, I would say China, not Hongkong. I would say I am a Chinese, without the silly prefix of Hongkong. If he thinks all Chinese are communists, I would tell him not all americans love waging wars in foreign countries. If he thinks Chinese are backward, uncivilized and uneducated, I will show him otherwise with my deeds, not a self-serving label of "Hongkong Chinese". If he is interested in stereotypes more than getting to know me, I would just wish him luck in the new century and most of all, I shall not try to reinforce his stereotype by cladding myself in a "Hongkong Chinese" disclaimer.

The answer depends upon the qualifications of the person that you hire. What is their education, skills, and work experience? Hiring a multi-lingual westerner with an MBA and several years of relevant work experience costs quite a bit more than hiring an 18-year-old semi-literate farmer who only speaks Chinese.

Frankly, if you wish to initiate business in China then you really need to go there yourself. Sending a proxy to evaluate product quality and negotiate terms with a manufacturer is a high risk endeavor. You need to buy a plane ticket and go do the job yourself, unless you wish to risk a complete failure of your venture.

As the rant from BSherman shows, YA is not the best place to find answers to such questions. It is very difficult to quote you a figure because much will depend on the actual work involved and the hours, terms, etc. The best thing for you to do is to go out there yourself if you can. Failing that, contact the China section of your country's (you did not say which country you are from, and some yanks do stray into the UK/Ireland site) Department of Trade and Industry. The Chinese Embassy's trade section can also help. Good luck.

We Chinese will settle for any amount since we are semi-literate farmers who can't speak other language than Chinese. Don't worry, we have fake MBA and doctorate degrees too.

I suggest you should give a good salary to the person you want, otherwise, the guy will not work hardly
