HD TV Broadcasts in the united kingdom?

I have a LG HD TV. It has 720P and 1080i viewing capabilities. My question is which setting is better to watch HD feeds on. I live in the UK and subscribe to Sky both Sports and movie packs, and also ESPN.

I should think the 1080i would give a stronger resolution = better picture. However, you should go with whatever settings makes the TV picture look the best. I'm sure some people find that the 720p works better for them, so it may come down to your personal opinion.

Television sets sold in the UK are able to detect all the information relating to the incoming signal through the HDMI port. It will automatically configure itself to the appropriate standard so you shouldn't do anything.

The broadcaster decides whether to transmit an HD programme in 720p or 1080i. You won't know in advance what is being used. If you attempt to 'second guess' this and pre-set the television to the wrong one then you will not get the best picture. Leave it to the electronics.

It doesn't matter what viewing packages you subscribe to.
