Lacking any credible argument, Liberals continue to fall back on the red herring of the Constitution. I'll repeat it for you once again: it's not a debate over their legal rights under the Constitution. Clearly and obviously they have the right build on their own property. It's a question of whether it's appropriate, a subterfuge, whether it's unnecessarily inflammatory and whether it will truly advance the cause of "building bridges."
You relentless criticize Fox. I'm sure you recognize their rights under the First Amendment, but somehow that doesn't end the debate. Could it be that there are valid criticisms of Fox that can be reasonably leveled even while acknowledging their legal right to exist?
To take it a step further, Imam Rauf himself is on record as opposing those who would intrude on the sensibilities of Muslims, despite any legal right to do so. Rauf vigorously opposed the publication of the Danish cartoons depicting Mohammed, on the basis that Muslims found them offensive. In a February 2006 press release, Imam Rauf announced that he was "appalled" by the drawings. He called it "willful fomentation" and "gratuitous" to republish them throughout Europe. In the following weeks, almost no U.S. newspaper printed the caricatures.
And yet now, the sensibilities of those who might be offended by his own "gratuitous and willful fomentation" of actions that offend some 70% of Americans are suddenly of no consequence when viewed next to his Constitutional rights. And people like you are left to defend him on the basis of a Constitutional argument that no one is really making, and by falling back on that old stand-by of the Left, invoking "Nazis."
Edit: Trout, you're a smart guy. Misguided, but smart. You are one of the few on here who actually pose a challenge that goes beyond shouting insults and slogans. But I know I've won the debate when you're reduced to claiming that Fox News is turning me into a Nazi. See you down the road.

Don't play that game.
Where were you when people were fined for holding a bible study in their own home?
How about some towns that don't allow people to smoke in their cars?
Now, freedom of religion and property rights are so important to the liberals?
I might believe it, if there were even a hint of consistency.

Not surprised that a mosque will be built sooner than the "freedom tower"
