A 850sf lot if it were square would be approx. 29ft long and 29ft deep. I don't think you could build a house on a lot this size since you would have to take into consideration any lot setbacks and easements which are probably at least 5ft minimum. I would ask a nearby neighbor next to the property if they would like to purchase it to make their property size bigger.

If it were a 8500sf lot, you could easily build a house on this size lot. gl

You have to go to the city planning department in san diego and ask them, however 850 sq feet kind of simular to 100ft x's 80ft which is like 3to4 SUV'S lined up north and south and 2to3 suvs and one voltswagon the other direction west and east can you live in this much space if you subtract the 20 feet from the front and 5 feet from the sides for your required offsets -depending on the city. also you wont have much of a front or back yard either

Source(s): My friend BUGSY told me this he's an Architect! get a measuring tape and a long string and go to the park and create an imaginary house (dont for get to add your offsets and your front and back yard space! and one kitchen and one 15x15 master bedroom with a bathroom

It is worth a consultation with a local architect. It you decide to sell, you will be able to answer your own question to the potential buyers. If the property happens to be central business district commercial zoned, you may not want to market it as a residential lot. If it is commercial property, you may be able to build a zero lot line three story building. I would call a local architect and find out.

A lot of land in 850 sq. ft. means 850 divided by 3 equals 283.33 sq. m. If my calculation is not wrong, the answer is `YES!`

You can build yourself a 5 storey townsvila house.l
