What is a polite way to tell a co-worker to do things for herself?
I understand helping each other out, and I don't have a problem with that. But when it is something that you could do for yourself easier than I could do for you, but you are just too lazy to do it......That I have a problem with. Any suggestions?

"I understand you want me to hold your hand all the time, but I really don't have time and need to get my own work done. Go and see the boss if you need to".
This really aught to work and if they can't accept it then are they really any good at the job/should they be there? Maybe even they're having problems at home but whatever the reason it isn't your problem and if you're doing work for her then it could negatively affect your performance and then it will become your problem.
Handle it now and make a difference.

Just tell them that if they are having problems figuring out their job, then they need to speak with the manager about further training.
Or, you can go to the manager and suggest that this person may need more training or retraining, since she seems to have issues doing her job.
No matter what you end up saying or how you say it, or who you say it too.........expect a bad response from this person. Lazy people think its offensive for someone else to tell them to do THEIR job on their own.
