Is this guitar good for a starter?
Harmony acoustic guitar, model H6340, made somewhere between 1972-1974. Not a full size dreadnaught, its a bit smaller - perhaps a 000 size.
I am thinking about buying an acoustic guitar and starting taking lessons.

Not to disagree with the posters here but Harmony made a good solid guitar back in the days when the competition wasn't as fierce. Depends on the asking price of course and the condition of the neck. In any case, if the price is right, get it or jump for a Takamine Jasmine series.

I got this ION Starter pack, came with the guitar, amp, picks, a book, a case, a strap, a whammy bar. And some other stuff. It was pretty decent. And the Epiphone LP Special II kit I would say is pretty good! I used to own the guitar but I didn't like it with my setup, but it's a kit, and yer just starting, so it should be pretty good! Good luck and happy playing!

Harmony is a good name, not great but not bad either.
My first guitar was a 7 3/4 book S&H Green Stamp purchase. Any guitar for learning is good.
The big lesson is to practice (x10)!!!
Not that familiar with this model but it appears to be a clasic and well worth purchasing.
As you proceed, your fingers will hurt a bit, but is's worth it if you really want to persue this. Good luck!

It's the level of drive, and not the guitar, that makes a guitar suitable or unsuitable.
If that's what you have within you, then get the guitar.
