Copy and paste text in Adobe Photoshop (CS4)?
There's a problem that's really frustrating. Copying texts in photoshop doesn't work. When I right-click and click copy or Ctrl+C, it deselects the text layer. It happens every single time. However, sometimes I select a small portion of the text and it works; can anybody find a solution?
Thanks.
@jackie, thanks for the reply. i followed your advice but the copying of text still doesn't work.

Select all the text by highlighting with the text tool in use. Ctrl+C. Before you paste, with the text tool click once on a layer (possibly new or new image) to indicate to PS where to place the text and Ctrl+V. Another way would be to use the Duplicate layer by right clicking on the text layer in the Layer palette. If copying to another image, have it open and in the Duplicate layer dialog, select the image to paste onto.

I've had a similar problem where text wasn't being selected. this worked for me:
view ---> show ---> selection edges
My only other guess is that maybe you have the auto-select box in the top left corner selected and it's making you jump between layers
