Why is Protestantism associated with wealth generation?

I've heard of the "Protestant ethic", and how it supposedly leads to wealth, but I'm not sure what this all means. Does anyone care to explain?

The biblical truth holds true, "seek first the Kingdom of God and His righteousness and all these things would be added unto you." Obedience to God would bring blessings - material blessing is only a part of these.

The Protestant work ethic is tied up with biblical principles;having faith and looking up to God to bless his obedience, perseverance, honesty and hard work.

a bunch of "Christian" "Missionaries" who are working over time to convince most of Asia that the "West" is wealthy be cause of Christianity, so it's obvious Jesus loves capitalism. They are purposefully undermining culture and proselytizing in places like Mongolia which have need of Social Services help since the collapse of communism. These people are using this opportunity to feed, house and educate Mongolians to be Christians with a long term goal of setting up unrestricted manufacturing facilities-which will only hire Christians, of course,. With little or no regard for environmental protection. Seriously this is a kind of recent "Dogma" passed around as an incentive to become Christian-especially in the US.

They are parasitic opportunists and if Jesus saw them in action he would cry of shame!

You've been listening to the wrong people. God promises a blessing to those who follow Him, not necessarily material wealth. However some pastors today are teaching that...it is a false belief

I think it is down to the puritans thinking that idlers (eg people not praying or slaving) would get up to no good
