My friend (a recovering crack addict for 5 years) insists she's ok to visit her brother out of town who says?

he's very ill. I have no reason to trust her brother as he has always been a liar. I think my friend has no desire to fall back into that life. Still, I fear that there's a very real chance that the brother and his wife would have no problem tempting her. This has happened on several occasions over the past 20 or so years. She says I don't trust her but that's beside the point. Seems like she's playing with fire. What to do?

YES. this is playing with fire. oh god, i wish i could like physically stop her from visiting her drug addict relatives. one of the main things to do during any rehab program is to take away the ENVIRONMENT AND SOURCE. if her source was her brother, then she's screwed. she will go back to it. for sure. drugs are powerful and it only takes one hit (especially crack.cocaine) to get back into it.

i seriously hope you can keep her from visiting these ppl. if she really needs to visit him, then she should take you along with her. supervise her, and protect her. good luck.
