Were you disappointed that the Presdient didn't give more credit to the surge?

I'm a liberal, I liked the speech. I agreed with most of what he said. But I think he should have given the surge and Gen. Petraes more than a line in the speech. What do you think?

No, I didn't expect him to. He railed against it before it worked.

I didn't expect him to give much credit to the surge or Gen. Petreas because it would show what a true mistake he had made as a senator and candidate for president.

As a senator and candidate, Obama said the surge would not work.

As a senator, he was part of the democrat gang that basically called Petreas a liar.

If he were to praise either of those in his speech tonight, the Republicans and some democrats would realize how big of a hypocrite he really is.

As a liberal you're probably aware that the incumbent was quite vocal in his condemnation of the surge when he was in the senate. What makes you think he would give credit to it now. That would be admitting that he was wrong and his ego won't allow that. You have a good day now

Obama was against the war (as Senator) before he was for it (as president relishing on the sucess of the troop surge strategy of "the previous 8-years")

The Anbar Awakening started many months before the surge.

No, I'm disappointed he thinks the same game will work twice. I'm pretty sure, since it's already been done, everyone we're fighting there will know exactly what is coming

He voted against the surge, if he admits it worked he would have to admit he was wrong. A liberal cannot admit failure, it's not in their vocabulary.

Yes, he downplayed it when Bush was in office, now he wants to take all the credit for it.

It's a shame whats going on in the wh these days. Democrats aren't what they used to be.
