should my parents let me buy this phone with my own money?

I want the iphone 4 and im earning enough money myself to buy it as im 17 and have a job. But since i cant sign for the contract myself as im not 18 yet my parents refuse to because they say its a waste of my money BUT i mean i dont spend money on anything else and ill still have money to save whilst paying for my iphone.... i dont NEED the iphone i just think its cool and i know i can afford it like this sooooo what do YOU think is right, not getting it and saving more money or getting it because i CAN afford it and its not useless i use my phone heaps.?

    Personally, i don't think you should buy it.

    But seriously, don't listen to me, i'm probably just jealous cuz i'm not allowed one lol i'm 17 too but just quit my job cuz the pay was crap so now i have like no money and my parents won't buy one for me. I think i'm pretty biased ;) lol

    anyhow yeh i guess u should buy it (as long as u let me play on it ;) ha ha jks)

    I think your parents are wrong it's your money should be able to do what u want with it...

    Oh and p.s don;t tell them that you know you don't need it. just don't. LOL

    i let my children buy whatever they want with their own money. besides, u re 17, u re not 12! i think your parents re wrong - it's your money, u can do whatever u want
