In the market to buy a Digital SLR camera - which one to buy?

i was googling and found Nikon D3000 10.2MP Digital SLR Camera which is best for you.

All entry level cameras are rather basic, but the thing is the D3000 and Canon 1000D are ok cameras. But if you want something more advanced I'd suggest shopping on the used market for a Canon EOS 30D or a Nikon D80. These cameras probably will suit someone with experience with an SLR already. The 30D and D80 (and equivalent cameras) have much better designed user interfaces for much swifter operation.

I personally found, when weighing up cameras recently, that Nikon don't put an auto focus motor in the body cripples the choice of lens. That was enough to put me off Nikon.

I also think that a good comparison would be BMW and Mercedes. A BMW comes with all the trimmings, at the same price the Mercedes has none of the bells and whistles, you are buying it because it is a Mercedes, and all that that means. You buy a Nikon because it is a Nikon, and all that that means. Of course it on the one hand it means you are getting an excellent machine that is beautifully engineered.On the other it means foregoing the benefits users of other systems take for granted. How much bang do you expect for your buck?

Try dpreview.com camera comparison feature, read a load of reviews, but especially user reviews and try to figure out why the people who were unhappy, were unhappy.And lastly, obvious I'm sure, but go into the shops and check out your options, see how they feel. Nothing is a substitute for that.

Whatever you go for, rest assured that pretty much every camera out there is really good, it's more; how good is it for you?

I would say when considering cost, and not knowing how deep you wish to get into picture taking, the Sony A230 (although not long ago the A200 was so cheap it was amazing). Sony do not have quite the high-end backup in pure photography like Nikon or Canon have, but they do have a good place in the market. If you have more money and wish to buy into a system, I would heartily endorse the Nikon D3000 and D5000 mentioned elsewhere here.

The D3000 feels too basic for you? Try to look at the award-winning Pentax K-x. Maybe a peek at its bright viewfinder will bring you back to the old glory days of film SLRs.

If you are just starting photography from now i suggest canon EOS 1000D for minimum price
