Since were eating rocks when we eat salt, is that bad for us?
I never thought about where salt came from, and now I know it comes from rocks.
But aren't rocks unedible?

Actually, salt is a mineral. While it does form crystals that look like rocks, it is completely edible.

Salt isn't a rock.
Comman table salt (NaCl) is an ion of Sodium (a metal) and Chlorine (a gas).
Think about it. Is salt edible to you?

Salt is not from rocks.
Salt is sodium chloride, a soluble mineral (it dissolves in water). Rocks are not soluble (they don't dissolve in water).
