I recently purchased a Herschel Settlement backpack. It s made out of a stiff polyester material. Does it get less stiff after using it?

I'm from the United States and am studying abroad in Austria for four weeks, and it is expected that we bring our host family a gift. I know nothing about my host family, nor do I know how many members are in the family.

The gift can't be too big or fragile, as it could break in my suitecase during the flight. I thought about getting a candle, but it seems a tad impersonal.

Maybe there's something that we have in the United States that they don't have in Austria that my host family might like? Any and all suggestions are appreciated.

I have shorts that are 88% polyester and 12% spandex.

I never thought about where salt came from, and now I know it comes from rocks.

I saw a dog while I was driving in the car.

So the dog was small, about the size of a Shih Tzu, or a little bit smaller.

It was reaally fluffy. It's hair was wavy/curly and it was light brown.

It had really short legs.
