well it all depends on the jailbreakers to answer that. they have to get an ipod touch of their own inorder to figure out how to jailbreak it. so be patient and use the ipod normally until the jailbreak for the 4th generation becomes avaliable.

you would be unable to jailbreak what hasn't come out yet. the recent iPod touches might greater advantageous than in all probability contain 4.0.2 or very quickly after 4.a million.
