Are they really splitting "Breaking Dawn" into 2 parts?
What on EARTH for? Seriously! There's not even enough plot to need 4 1/2 hours of movie split into two parts. That's just lame. Even Return of the King didn't get split into 2 parts. Pssfff...
Okay, enough dissin. I want to hear your opinions. Twilight fans are welcome, just be nice and have a good day. Happy writing! (:
It's plain STUPID. Honestly. I hope the next Batman movie comes out that same year and kicks its butt off the top movies list. It'll already get creamed by Harry Potter Part 2 next year.
Yeah, I'm going to pray that Batman 3, Avatar 2, and a new Jurassic Park movie all come out the same year the Breaking Dawn ones do so it'll be kicked out of the boxoffice sky high.

They're trying to copy Harry Potter -- like Twilight would EVER even TOUCH Harry's fame.
HARRY POTTER IS BETTER!

They're doing it to milk as much money from rabid Twilight fans as possible. It's not that the plot is rich enough or interesting enough to warrant two separate movies, and the producers know that. In fact, you can probably sum up the entirety of the series in a couple bullet points. That's why they're trying to stretch out the shelf life of the Twilight series for much longer than it naturally should last. And the worst part is, Twilight fans don't care how crappy the movies are, (they love the books so that should be an indication of their standards) and they'll probably even go again to see the SAME movies except "from Edward's point of view" if they ever do that.
And yes, I really do hope the next Batman movies comes out to pummel Twilight into submission. If Nolan actually adds in Catwoman, I'll forever worship him, if it's even possible to worship him any more after watching Inception. Batman's now an outlaw, Catwoman's always been on the border of villain and anti-hero. Who else would best understand him and accept him, because Rachel Dawes so obviously didn't?

Yes, Paramount are trying to milk the series for all it's worth. Breaking Dawn doesn't need to be split into two films, the only things that happen are a marriage, a pregnancy, a 'battle' with the Volturi and that's about it really. With Harry Potter, there was so much detail and information in the book, it was essential to make two films, and to give the series the credit it deserved.

Ditto squared!! I mean, with Harry Potter, its great. If they tried to cram all the Daethly Hallows book into 1 film, they'd have to cut bits out, and that would just be an insult to JK and the whole Harry Potter franchise. I CANT WAIT FOR IT TO COME OUT!!
(Sorry. Im excited!)
Breaking Dawn however... they get married. they go on their honeymoon. Shizz happens. bellas pregnant. Baby wants blood. Baby wants out. Bella is a vampy. Then all that stuff with the volturi.
I think they are doing it because of Harry Potter.
Stephenie Meyer said ''i think they'll have to make 2 parts, i cant imagine it all fitting into 1 film'' just after they announced Harry Potter was going to be split. Lol :L

From what i heard, yes two parts. one is going to be out in 2011 and the last in 2012. I like the books and the movie, but i think they are just trying to drag it out. I also hear that it was Rob and kirsten that wanted to do two more movies cause of the money, but who really knows *shrug* Oh, and my sister told me that she heard they are doing a R rated movie for it too.

haha yes! What plot? At least Harry Potter 7 has enough going on in the books to justify the splitting of the movies to do the book justice (also, I read a review/summary of the test screening in chicago on mugglenet, you won't BELIEVE how close they are to the book) anyway, do we really need a whole movie of Jacob whining about how he hates his life and lives as a werewolf? or the volturi and the rest just standing in a field reading each other's minds? Srsly, is it just going to be Edward and Aro/Arro, whoever the hell can read minds my touch just standing in the middle with subtitles. Actually, that probably will be it. Then they just leave. I wonder who's gonna play Nessie?
Wow ,enough rants with horrible spelling and punctuations, I just types this really fast.
PS thanks for answering my question to . And I like your screen name :)

Apparently so. The first half is going to premiere on November 16th, 2010 and the other half is November 18th, 2010. They're doing the same thing with Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows movie, too. Well, the books are extremely long (like 800 or 900 pages?) so it's not surprising to me that the movies are being split up into parts. After all, who wants to sit in the movie theater for that many hours? I think it's a way for them to get more money, once you see the first half you feel like you need to see the second. I think it's very eccentric that they are doing that. I'm not the biggest fan of Twilight, I watch the movies (they're OK in my opinion) though, I just hate how they leave cliffhangers at the end.

I didn't hear about that. That's....weird. But I see why, they might just want to get all of the details in - with the whole "Jacob" book within Breaking Dawn and whatnot. But then again, they could've just made ONE really long movie.
And the girl above me, about the whole "everyone involved wants more money", that could be very true...

Yes, they seriously are making it into 2 films.
Its because so much happens in the last book, and they wanted to do the book justice.
Just like Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows.
