Convert 12 square metres into square yard?

Cost of carpet = 12*3.99/9 = £5.32 - this is a cheap carpet. When something looks like this you should become suspicious.

I think the room is not 4 ft by 3 ft

I think your room is 4m by 3m = 12 m^2 which is equal to 12*3.281*3.281 = 129.18 sqft=14.35 sqyd

Cost of carpet = 14.35*3.99/9 = £57.27

You state the room is 4 foot by three foot which is 12 square foot and as 9 square feet is one square yard you will need 1 1/3 square yards.

however you need to check the width of the roll you are buying as you may find it is three feet six wide and will need to be cut to fit the room !!!

where did the meters come in to this question as your room is three feet by four feet which is imperial measurements ?
