Sorry that your CHI broke as that is what I would recommend you because they work so well. If you are looking into other brands that are pretty affordable, I would suggest Andis, Remington, or maybe Babybliss. Here is a great site that you can check out that has a lot of information on quality hair straighteners and also has reviews. http://hairstraighteners.org/ You can also get good deals from that site as well.

Everyone tells me that tourmaline is better for you hair than ceramic but to be honest, I've found it's the other way around, but who am I say to say. The CHI is pretty good, why don't you just buy it again? You could also google 'top ten hair straighteners' and there are tons of websites which give reviews and advice for which ones to buy. Good luck :)

Well I have rough and thick hair, so if you have hair similar to mine, you should get the Farouk BioSilk straightener. You can get this really cheap at marshall's for about 30$, when it is usually about 80$

Yeah I LOVE my Tourmaline T3, here's the link to the one I have. I don't have curly or thick hair but it works awesome, not too harsh or anything. My hair is always really smooth. Oh and I noticed I don't get burn lines.

It might be odd to change to a non ceramic, but i have the Remington Wet2straight and it's pretty great. It kind of fries your hair after using it for years though.

how about getting keratin treatments those lasts 6 months and you won't have to worry about straighting your hair, it's around $300-$400 but its worth it
