How many political parties are in the U.S.?

Impossible to say - they come and go very quickly as peoples interests and momentary enthusiasms change.

There is proof that the socialist & progressive have consolidated to the democratic party.

We are being divided and ALL of us regardless of party are going to pay the price. There are to many people who don't believe that, just don't care and then there are those that want it to happen.

The democrats think they are in charge however the progressives are really in charge and the dems don't appear to know that.

The true democrats have no idea they lost their party and aren't doing ANYTHING to stop it so they can regain their political party. They are taking the role of spectators & cheerleaders at a war that involves the demise of their future as well as our countries future.

The progressives are now trying to claim the democratic party as theirs.

Republicans & Democrats use to work things out for the benefit of our people & country. Since the progressives entered on the scene they have been working at dividing us to take us over.

I see everyone running around thinking progressive means progress.

Why do so many people think progress is associated with Progressivism? Is it because the word progress is in progressive? If that is their basis. Is Marxism progress?

The progressives are their own party and hijacked the democratic party using the liberal label. The progressive party never could get anyone elected. That is why they hijacked and are running the democratic party.

Progressivism is not just an idea but the practice that the government knows best and has full control and ownership over everything including people. Progressivism does not believe in government as it is now. With that I mean progressivism does not believe that representation of the people is needed because the executive branch runs everything and knows what is best. People are the property of the government like animals are owned by people. There is no such thing as peoples rights such as freedom, privacy, individualism etc. If you have ever seen the Borg on Star Trek that would be similar.

Progressivism operates under the facade of appearing to be a government doing what is best for the people without their input and silencing all opposition

There are the two oblivious ones. The Republican Party (Party for rich wasp men) The Democratic Party (The party for rich Catholics, Jews and WASP women who give pity to the poor) The 2 parties have a agreement to keep other parties off the ballot by having stringent rules to get ballot status.

Some parties have succeeded to get around these rules. Parties like the Libertarian party, green party or the constitution party have ballot status in only few states. So if you asking how parties have ballot status, the number is about 5. Other parties? There is anything from the Prohibition party to The Socialist Labor Party There might be 500 parties that don't have ballot status!

Hmmmmmmmmmmm... Let's see... There is one Democrat party... five or six Republican ones... ten or twelve flavors of Libertarian... and a zillion little ones.
