do mice sleep with their eyes open?

we just got an egyptian spiny mouse, and a lot time, he just sits in his cage all curled up not doing anything. is he sleeping? i've never seen him sleep with his eyes closed....

    I'm not sure about the exact type of mouse that you have, but my mouse sleeps with his eyes closed. He curls up inside of the blanket in his cage, and when I go to get him out he's laying there with his eyes closed. He may just be sleeping when you're not checking on him. That's very possible. Or he could wake up when he sees or hears you coming. I do know though, that my current mouse, and my past mice, have slept with their eyes closed.

    i dont know about a mouse but gerbils, ands hamsters do, so they maybe do
