Which way should I have my dual exhaust come out of my truck?

I have a 2001 black dodge ram and I am having a dual exhaust put in and I can't decide whether the ends should go out the sides or straight out the back? I will not be towing anythin with the truck so that's not an issue

well if you want to straight pipe it go striaght out the back but when you go out the side they have to put an extra couple bends and if you ever have a problem with it it will cost a bit more to fix. M y prference out the sides looks better but cost efficent way straight pipe out the back...

Side exhaust tends to gas cars next to you at stop lights (not nice for them).

Side exhaust might be a bit shorter (so maybe cheaper), and it might be less drag on the exhaust (because the path is shorter).

I would be courteous and not gas people in the lane next to me.

i like chrome pipes out the side. i did it on my 87 monte carlo. that thing turned heads no matter where i went. people love the old school look and it plain looks badass! they exit out in front of the rear wheels.

you should be different and have it out the sides...so many people have it straight out the back...
