Does anybody have experience with Roomorama.com?
I am looking to rent a vacation home in NYC and have recently found this website, which seems to be able to protect me from scammers - I'd pay the full stay to roomorama, and they'll only release the payment to the host once I've checked in. Did anyone use them before? Is it a good, reliable service?

Hi, my name is Jim and I am part of the founding team at Roomorama. Of course I am an unbiased party here but I just saw the thread and wanted to give my two cents. :)
We do protect you as a guest by making sure no money is exchanged until you are happy. If you show up and are unhappy, you simply do not hand over the unique payment code. Of course we will help you find an alternative place if this situation occurs.
We have many hosts in NYC (after all that is where we started), and you can see on their profiles how many stays they have hosted before. This should give you a measure of confidence when renting with them. Also, you can ask as many questions as you would like to the host before booking.
