I am here mainly to spread the word about cat nutrition and the horrible food the pet food industry makes for our pets, convincing us that this is a balanced and healthy diet. Well it's not and I believe every pet owner should know how feeding bad food impacts their cat's health and what is the best way to feed your cat to remain strong and healthy. I constantly continue my research on this. I will answer any questions, so please send me an email if you have cat questions or need to follow up on some of my answers.

  • Where to find a video of FULL Conrad Murray's defense opening statement?

Or at least a FULL transcript. I googled and youtubed and searched news sites for 3 hours but nothing. I'm not looking for a few minutes highlights, I want to see the whole Ed Chernoff's performance as it was televised. Anyone know where to find it or anyone who has it recorded?

  • Introducing a new kitten - help?

I have a 2 year old spayed Norwegian forest male. He's very cuddly and playful and since I work a lot, I thought of bringing him a friend. I chose a mellow playful 4 month old Maine Coon mix. Brought her in yesterday and put her in a separate room.

He spend some time staring at the door, then went around his business. I showed him the kitty and he hissed and ran away. Now he doesn't want to cuddle and hisses at me cause I smell like the new kitty. The little girl cries for attention in her room and I feel sorry for her, but I know I should be spending time with my boy so he doesn't feel abandoned. But the hissing freaks me out and he doesn't purr when I hold him and wants to get away from me.

What do you think I should do next? I want them to get along well and be each others company...

  • How to remove noise from a video?

I am making a video for a friend as a farewell and I received many videos from her friends and family around the world. Some have background noise (wind etc.) but there is one in particular that was shot in a moving car, and the engine noise overpowers the speech.

Is there a free program I can use to tune out the noise part of the sound track? If it involves splitting the audio and video please tell me how to do that too, I'm not a pro and I'm doing this in a Windows Movie Maker.

    Thank you!

  • Should I get a friend for my cat?

I have a Norwegian forest cat who is about to turn 2. He's a lively cat who likes to play, and lived up to his 9 months in a household with 16 cats, even though he was mostly interacting with a few that were indoor. Right now he's been 15 months with me only. He's neutered.

I work 8-6 every day and have to admit I don't play with him as much as I used to. I was thinking he might benefit from a company throughout the day. I am considering getting a female kitten.

I can afford the extra food, litter and health-care. My question is if you think he would like to have a playmate and company for the days that I'm gone. I also travel for work for about a week every month, and even though I have a sitter, they would only come to feed and cuddle for a short time. I just hope they won't destruct my flat :-)

  • What are the opening hours for the Dome of the Rock?

I will be visiting Jerusalem and I would like to get onto the mountain where the Dome of the Rock stands. What are currently the opening hours for non-muslims? I vaguely remember them being different for muslims and non-muslims.

  • Advice on getting from Eilat to Petra on our own?

We are planning to make a trip to Petra from Eilat on March 4th and 5th. Since the tour prices are very expensive, we would like to explore the option of going on our own.

I need advice as to where to cross the border, what taxi prices in dollars should we expect Eilat to border and border to Wadi Mousa. There will be three of us and I already found a tripple room in Wadi Mousa for $ 50.

What taxes should we expect to pay at the borders when entering and leaving Jordan? What is the opening time of the borders?

Is it possible to arrange a taxi driver to wait for us at the border? where do I get a reliable one?

Does the rate of JD50 for a day entry to Petra apply to foreigners and what 'services' are included? I didn't find that on their webpage.

My dad is ill and can only walk slowly and in easy terrain. Can we get him a horse and how much would it cost? can it go everywhere?

What would be the weather like in beginning of March?

Any other advice/experience you can offer would be great!

Sorry for too many questions :-)

  • How to see the whole Budapest in a day?

I'm going to Budapest this weekend with a friend. We arrive at 23.00 on friday night and are leaving 15.30 on Sunday. We have fixed plans on Saturday 5-8.

We would like to see as much of the city as possible during Saturday and half Sunday. What are the not-to-miss sights and is there like a comfortable walking sightseeing trail going through Pest and Buda?

What are some nice restaurants in the WestEnd area where we'll be staying? Preferably local. And what are the best R&B and hip-hop clubs in the area?

  • Help with specifics of a big format picture and printing?

Ok, so I'm planning to print a panoramic picture I took. I use Photoshop CS5 and it gives me these specs about the image size:

    Width: 10184 pixels, Height 3240 pixels (94.4M)

    dimensions: 359x114 cm

    resolution 72 pixels/inch

I'd like to have it printed in the original size, but I'm not sure it will be of great quality. The printing companies here will say anything to get the business, so I though I'd ask you.

I read in the forums it's better to print at 300 dpi, but I know it's impossible to increase the quality of the picture, right? Also I'm confused about the pixels/inch, dpi, pixel density etc.

Can someone please explain me the difference between those and what is the most important when printing large formats for best results? Can my picture be printed in the original size or should I go more modest?

    Thank you!!!

  • My cat threw up, not sure what it could be?

My cat is a one year old, neutered male. He is on healthy grain-free canned food and partially raw diet.

I found a little pile of puke with a hairball in it this morning (about 7 hours ago). He has been fine since, and has eaten part of his breakfast, even though he wasn't particularly interested in it today.

Now within the last 90 minutes, he has thrown up twice. Once a light brown liquid with foam on it and the second time he threw up 3 times in sequence. The first pile was his food and the second and third just clear liquid with foam on it. Do you think it can just be a persistent hairball? I don't have any hairball paste so any ideas how to help him will be appreciated.

I took away his food for now, until he calms down. In how long should I let him eat?

He has been wormed 2 months ago so I don't think it's worms.

He doesn't react when I press on his stomach, so I don't think he's in pain or have something stuck there, but who knows?

I'm always one to say 'take the cat to the vet' and I will if he doesn't get better before the evening (4-5 hours from now). The only reason I am not too worried is that he plays, cuddles and everything, doesn't act sick at all.

Just wanted to know what you think about it. Thank you.

  • What are some authentic/non-touristy NYC bars and clubs?

I'm going to NYC with a friend this Ocotber and would like to go to real New York bars and clubs, not the tourist traps. Any ideas? We will be staying in East Village, but anything that's not too far from Manhattan will do.

Also the music we'll be looking for will be R&B and rock music (we have very different tastes :-))

  • Does anybody have experience with Roomorama.com?

I am looking to rent a vacation home in NYC and have recently found this website, which seems to be able to protect me from scammers - I'd pay the full stay to roomorama, and they'll only release the payment to the host once I've checked in. Did anyone use them before? Is it a good, reliable service?

  • How safe is PayPal payment?

If I pay a deposit for an apartment rental on the other side of the world via Paypal, how safe is it?

Does it guarantee that the rental is not a scam? If I do not receive the service, if I don't get the apartment, what are the chances of getting my money back?

  • Is it safe to rent a vacation home in NYC through Craiglist?

I found really nice vacation homes on craiglist, better options and prices than on homeaway or vrbo.

However I am a little worried about the reliability of the listings. What do you think, safe or not?

  • Is it best for a cat to have a buddy or is it ok to be 'single'?

I have an 11 month old Norwegian Forest cat, which I got 3 months ago, he's been neutered about 6 weeks ago. He's very active throughout the night and evening, very affectionate in the morning and when I come from work. I spend about 9 hours a day away from home.

He gets the running crazies everyday and runs around the apartment like crazy, often meowing and growling in the process. He is not sick. But sometimes he would walk around the flat and meow and look around, is it possible he's bored? I play with him every day, but maybe it's not enough?

He lived up to almost 9 months in a house where there were lots of cats both indoor and outdoor, even though he spent most of the time in a room with his mom only.

Do you think I should get him a kitten to be with? Or will the cat be happy with just me? There's no way he can tell me if he wants a buddy or not, so I wanted to know what is the best for him.

Also this may sound a little selfish, but I'm worried if there are 2 cats they will cuddle and play with each other and leave me out. I don't want to loose the attention I'm getting from my current cat... :-)

  • Cat raw feeding: Breeds and ability to process raw?

I have a Norwegian Forest. I'm pretty sure none of his ancestors were fed a raw diet, since breeders mostly feed commercial food. The breeder I got him from fed him ultra-cheap kibble, and the parents the same.

Isn't it possible that domestic cats, especially bred, have really lost some of their ability to process raw food, and are not as able to handle bacteria, worm eggs etc. as wild cats?

I mean, these cats have been eating the commercial or cooked food for generations, wouldn't it be enough time for their digestive tract to adapt to that? Just thinking...

  • Cat raw feeding: feeding eggs?

To all the raw feeders out there, what is your stance on eggs? Necessary or not? How do you feed them? I just can't imagine my cat breaking the shell or munching on a cracked egg :-) And what about the Biotin issue?

  • What are some raw feeding disadvantages/cons?

I plan to switch my cat to raw food.

Raw feeding and concerns about feline nutrition is quite a recent phenomenon. As with everything 'new' ( I do know it's been out there for a while, but the awareness is starting to raise), there are a lot of positives associated with it. Just like there were with smoking in 50s :-) What are some current known cons or possible disadvantages/risks of feeding raw? Isn't it possible that this trend will be disproved in 5 years time after we've all taken it up? I'm not trying to be negative about it, I just want be aware of both the pros and cons.

  • Cat raw feeding and worms?

Will I need to deworm my indoor cat more often if I feed him raw food? usually it's recommended to worm indoors once a year, but there may be some worm eggs in the meat, right? Or will freezing the food prior to serving take care of that problem?

Please no answers about how I shouldn't feed raw, I did the research prior to making a decision.
