How do I insure that I am grammatically correct when I enter the title of a book into a paragraph in an essay I am writing?

From my high school essay writing experience, either italicizing or underlining the book title is acceptable.
You should check an online guide, because it may differ whether you use MLA, APA, whatever.

Underline it. And stay consistent throughout the rest of your essay. Meaning that, if you cite another book title, underline that too, don't do something different like italicize it.
