I understand that fat people might have to pay extra for an airline ticket because they take up two seats but then shouldn't I have to also pay extra since I'm ugly? No one should have to be inconvenienced by having to stare at such an ugly person for hours on a flight. If it's good for fat people to pay extra the same should apply to ugly people like me it seems?

I got $1,400 for each of the two adult dependents I claimed on my taxes. I received this for supporting them.  Should I give the money to them?  Is it rightfully their money?

I am going to be investing for my future retirement by opening an investment account. I only have about ten more years working as an employee before I retire. I have a couple of other retirement investments that are defined benefits and this new one will be used primarily to supplement my income in retirement along with the other two.

I have always heard that I should max out my 401K at work before doing any other investments but I have not been real eager to do so because there is really no employer match to speak of. Also, I have not had extra, disposable income to invest until now.

I feel I should now probably max out my 401K to the allowable limit to capitalize on the tax deferral advantage even though there will be no employee match but my financial adviser opened a Traditional IRA and we have maxed that out and he has also opened another account with his firm to invest another fairly large monthly sum I will be putting in on a dollar cost average basis each pay day.

Is this proper and sound action or should I be using my 401K to capitalize on the tax advantage I won't enjoy with the account he has initiated? Is this not really a problem or is this a clear, egregious error on his part. He is a new advisor although he is being overseen by others above him.

I'm a big guy, not real fat but I am fat and stocky, I weigh 290 pounds and I am 6 feet tall with a lot of muscle but fat as well. I haven't flew since I was 6 years old and went to Germany with my dad who was in the Army and naturally my size wasn't an issue then. Recently I met a girl online and she lives in England and we both have been flying back an forth from the UK and US for the past three years until we recently broke up. I was able to fasten the seat belt every time but it was tight. I also keep the arm rest down also to ensure I am not spilling over into the next person's space. The best flight I had was Virgin Airlines and I had a row of 4 seats all to myself, it was great and a person even came over to these seats and laid down after the flight was in the air. I always am self conscious that I am bothering someone else so I always try to suck in and ensure I am not bothering persons near me. I will be more self conscious after reading this. I have had skinny people constantly knee my seat from behind and let the seat all the way back in the front and pin me in while at the same time I am trying to be cognizant not to impede on anyone else. I will not complain about this because I have always been against affirmative action and feel people should take responsibility for their actions and I do feel it is my fault for lack of self control while eating that I am big. I don't want to be a hypocrite so I will support this policy and try to loose weight although I have had a very difficult time up to this point.

My girlfriend lives in the UK and I live in the US and I sent her a package and timed it to arrive on her birthday. The last time I sent a package a year ago, they charged her to receive the package. This does not happen in the US and I'm not sure how much she is going to have to pay to receive the package. I believe they charge her a tax or duty according to how much the merchandise in the package is worth. I had to fill out a "Customs Declaration and Dispatch Note" declaring the value of the goods inside and it is my understanding they use this amount to determine how much she is charged. If I valued the merchandise at $27.75, how much will she have to pay to receive the package? Also, what if my estimation is wrong and the value of the goods inside is actually worth a little more than what I declared, will they know and if they find out, what will they do about it if my estimation is wrong? My girlfriend lives in the UK, I live in the US, her birthday is coming up soon. One of the birthday gifts I want to get her is a printer for her computer, she needs one very badly. I can't get one here in the US and send to her since it won't work. It won't plug into her electrical outlet. I want to order one from a store in the UK and have it sent to her. I'm from the US yet I've recently acquired an interest in the UK since I met my English girlfriend online. After talking for a year, I went over to meet her, she has been over here 3 times and soon we're both going to live together in the US permenently. She's told me of the problems with the National Health Care System and while there I read articles involving the immigrants and how they're often a drain on government services. It seems that the government is too anxious to give hand outs to immigrants and they reward and encourage non productivity by doing this. It seems as if things have gotten out of hand. I've read comments UK citizens post here, many of them say it's gotten to the point of no return and nothing can be done to save the UK now. I was reading about how the government system in the UK works and it says the Prime Minister must report to the Queen each week. Can't the Queen tell the Prime Minister to put the brakes on immigrants and stop with all the handouts?
