Should we or shouldn't we..?
So we got a new 5 days ago from the RSPCA . She's called Ellie, and she's a Staffie x Lab and we think she's 4 years old.

She actually doing very well considering we haven't had her long and she does as she's told most of the time with the odd time when she doesn't want ot listen but I guess that's with most dogs. She's house trained and she is very good off the lead and she's getting on very well with our greyhound. However she does pull on the lead but if she's wearing a harness she's ok on the lead. Mum wants to try train her to walk with out the harness so should we train her to walk with just a collar or should we just let her walk with the harness.

Try a halti, they're fantastic. Our labrador is generally really good on the lead but if we go somewhere with water (she's a waterbaby!) or anywhere really busy she does get excited and likes to pull. Even when we just put the halti on she calms down and walks with a loose lead.
The way they work is that if the dog pulls it turns their head to the side. So in order for them to see where they are going they have to not pull. They learn very quickly!

If she walks fine on a harness, just stick to using a harness.
Why try something else & confuse her?
