Set of 3 or more walkie talkies for children?
I would like good quality walkie talkies for my kiddos- but I have 3 (ages 5 and under)! Was wondering if there are any reasonably priced kid-tough walkie talkies in sets of 3 or 4? Just looking for ideas and personal experience with certain brands.
ALSO, I remember seeing walkie talkies for girls that looked like 'old' rotary phones... I saw them online at a children's learning type website and now have no clue where and can't find them!
Thanks a bunch!!

if you go to amazon.com and type in walkie talkie you'll have your choice. there are many brands that kids can use. i would suggest Motorola or Midland for their superior reception. the radios you are looking for are called "FRS" family radio service. they don't need a licence to operate whereas GMRS general mobile radio service needs an $80 dollar FCC licence to operate on. now family radio service is a low power frequency, which means reception is for short distance 2 to 5 miles only. GMRS is a high power frequency, which means 10 miles or more. its up to you which you want to buy. they all come with rechargeable batteries so you wont have to worry about the cost of batteries

i would never give a cell phone to a child and parents who do are smucks. i was lucky. when i was going to college and did not have the money for such luxuries either for me or my son. instead, he wanted a tattoo at 16. i told him no. frankly i don't think any teen should have a cellphone. teens are apt to abuse it. however, monkey see monkey do. most of the time the parents pays for the cellphone. i would not pay for it. he wants a cell phone he has to be 16 and a half and be able to pay for it. he needs to have good grades, and show me he is a responsible young individual. so he would need a part time job and maintain his grades. otherwise, he would have do certain chores for me other than what he is normally responsible for. there will be certain restrictions that includes usage, including the times he can use the phone and where (not during school). i don't know if there are ways that i could keep track over who he talks too, time, when and where. if there is a way, i would. and i will make it my business to learn how to operate that phone. they are so fancy. it has nothing to do with trusting my child (if i did not trust him, no cellphone) i do not trust the world. as i said before, we got to be parents, not friends and i will add and not their bank.
