Weight loss - The first and most obvious benefit of quitting meat and dairy products is weight loss
More energy - When your meals consist of vegetables and fruit, your blood sugar will become much more stable. As a result, your energy level will be consistent and you will not get that fatigue feeling after meals.
Good conscience - You save many lives when you do not eat meat. A cow weighs about 1000 pounds. A pig weighs about 250 pounds when it is going to slaughterhouse. How many pounds of meat do you eat each week? In a lifetime, that is a lot of animals saved.
More money - The average vegetarian spends less money on food than non-vegetarians do.
Helping the environment - Less farm animal means less pollution.
You will be healthier - More fruits and vegetables mean more vitamins for you.
Avoid heart disease - Cardiovascular disease is often connected with a diet full of saturated fats and cholesterol from meat and dairy products
Your body will be built of quality - You are what you eat and your body creates your cells of whatever you are putting into your mouth. Fruits and vegetables are life. Becoming vegetarian "detox" your body naturally
Your bones will last longer - At age 65, the average woman has a bone loss of 35%. A vegetarian woman has an average loss of 18%, at the age of 65. This is because a non-vegetarian gets excessively much protein. At overage, meat eaters get about 150% more protein each day than they need.
You will live longer - Vegetarian's immune systems are in much better shape than meat-eaters.

Advantages of Being a Vegetarian
Health Reasons: Studies have shown that vegetarians have a 50% reduced risk of heart disease and stroke, they also have a reduced risk of hypertension, type II diabetes, infertility, obesity, and certain types of cancers and a significantly reduced risk of colon cancer (168%). Additionally vegetarians are protected against meat-borne illnesses such as listeriosis, camphylobacter, and mad cow disease.
Environmental Reasons: The livestock industry is responsible for massive deforestation of rainforests to accommodate livestock grazing. Additionally it is reported that many livestock farms directly funnel raw sewage into freshwater sources significantly polluting them. There are many other contributions the meat industry has to damaging the environment including methane production from cows and water wastage The UN intergovernmental panel on climate change cites the meat industry as one of the major contributers to global warming.
Ethical Reasons:
It is compassionate and caring towards other living beings.

you poo easier and more.
your body feels lighter
less overall body weight if you eat correctly
I have a higher self-esteem since quitting eating meat because it gives me a better sense of control over my eating and i only eat when i'm hungry. its not like a stupid diet plan where you have to eat at certain times and certain food for your body shape, blood type, eating every 3 hrs, etc.
I started looking into it to loose weight and a big part of it is still that but I feel like a better person for saving animals.
EDIT: there are non-vegetarian independent studies that have come out in recent years showing that high protein diets, low carb, low fat etc contribute to infertility. Women who switched from low fat milk to whole milk had better fertility.
But also whatever that animal ate you eat. I mean whatever. They use euthenized cats/dogs, corn, soy, etc mixed all together and feed it to the cows to make them that big. All the hormones they give them to make them grow as well, plus all the antibiotics because of the filthy environment they live in. Go to Peta or Compassion or Killing.net
Even renting the Skinny B*tch or Skinny Bastard books to read up or just get the list of website. or their website.
GoVeg.com has a ton of info plus on the right hand side it has some pretty gruesome videos called glass walls by Paul McCartney which made me want to cry

There are many benefits to being a vegetarian. It makes you more healthy, can help weight loss (but only if you don't become a junk food vegetarian) helps the environment, and can actually help prevent certain diseases. If you have ever watched "Meet your meat," it not only points out the horrid cruelty to animals, but also the unhealthiness of the slaughterhouses they are kept in.

Excuse me if I sound rude or something to someone here, but this is my opinion and an answer to one of the answers bellow:
Do you REALLY think that you can save animals from dying by not eating meat?!??!I mean, that's the chain of nature, human needs proteins from animal origin, because it is build from the same material! What is good for some,it's not good for ALL!By not eating meat you are only causing a bigger damage, and it's even more sad:animals are dying,of course, they always were and they always will, and the meat that is not used in YOUR kitchen and not eaten by anybody else,is just thrown away!Think about it for a second. And,there's something you can do,and that is,make that all those animals are dying with a good reason, and that is,for your well being!i know that they didn't choose to dye,but again,it's the chain of nature. If not in your mouth, they gonna end up in some other animal's mouth.Meat needs meat so to be build on!
Why would someone be a vegetarian, and they really need to eat meat, just because of the fact that they are killing animals?!??!
Plus vegetarian diet is not the healthiest in the world.Vegetarians are very often found to have a lack of the essential building material for the human body and that's protein. They are in bigger risk to have problems with fertility too.
better looking skin?Not at ALL!
Eating meat in moderate quantities and with the right combination with other foods for you health benefits is the only vindication of all the animals killed with purpose so to be eaten.

So you are judging whether or not to be a vegetarian based on the opinions of totally random people who were probably just bored and decided to answer some questions? Well here's something to think about: ask yourself, "Do I really want to eat lettuce and grass for the rest of my life?"
