It depends on your pain tolerance and where on your body you get it. It's impossible to compare pain from piercings.

I don't have one myself, but I've seen friends get them done, by the scrunched up, displeased look on their face while getting them done I can only assume they hurt more.
Plus, the fact that they're basically "pocketing" your skin so they can get the anchor in is a good indicator that it'd hurt.
