Why does the radio control of an RC vehicle use 2.4Ghz and their Video 5.8Ghz?

What is the difference or why is it different that the radio control of RC Models uses the 2.4Ghz and their Video Equipment uses 5.8Ghz?

The radio spectrum is licensed or controlled by the FCC. The 2.4 GHz frequencies available to RC control are defined to have a very limited bandwidth, and thus would not support the wide bandwidth that video requires. The 5.8GHz frequencies are allowed to use a wider bandwidth.

Note that at higher frequencies, a fixed bandwidth chews up a smaller percentage of the frequency spectrum around those frequencies. So essentially, there is more room available.
