Ash, you're not new here...you know there is a fairly high concentration of peeps in need of meds here, not to mention trolls who like to stir things up.
I've seen a few posts mocking it & more not condoning book burning of any kind....Y!A has always been full of it....if you catch my drift.
Now the Koran burning thing has become a drinking question like Pascal's Wager....so those who are trolling are really pushing it....

In the news is a church group that has been planning on having a burning of the Koran. Those that support it, in my opinion are missing something critical. It is not Islam as a religion that is responsible for the terrorism, but a small percentage of Islamic fundamentalists that do their work and back it with Islam. Just like almost every religion has done at one time or another. For the Christians: Look at the Bible, and think what violence could (and has) been done by those that take (took) it literally. It is not the religion, but the interpretation. that causes the issue. I for one, am against the burning as I am an American Soldier, and this will cause an uprising that will cost lives of my brothers and sisters in uniform. Period. I support the right of them to do so, but I question the intelligence of the decision. Same as the Mosque at ground zero. I support the right, but I question the decision as it will only bring more problems. In case any wonders as to my religious motivation, I am pagan, and that means I am hated by both the Christians, and the Muslims, so for me it is not a religious question, but a political, and downright question of just how smart are these decisions, and what will be the second and third order of effects.
Source(s): 23 years of military service, 4 tours to the the Middle East, and too many to count of Brothers and Sisters in Arms paying the cost for stupid decisions like these. - 1 decade ago
Anger and ignorance. Some Americans think that the people who were involved in 9/11 did so because of Islam (they really did so by breaking most of islams rules suicide is a sin killing anyone who isn't a combatant is a sin killing woman and children is a sin surprise attacks are forbidden) there are a lot more rules they broke but im not bothered to list them all. Since 9/11 over 20000 US citizens convert to islam each year and they do so because while they were reasearching islam to try to find something bad about it they actually find peace through it. Some people however are not even bothered to reasearch it and just do hatefull things which only makes their relationship with the arab world worse. Salam Alaykum (peace be onto you)

I, for one, am one of those kinda supporting it...but only if they use self-immolation as the method for lighting them.
C'mon, Terry...if you're gonna protest, show some balls and PROTEST! If it was good enough for Vietnam-era Buddhists, it's good enough for you!

nobody is supporting it. Someone has nasty plans. It was asked 20 times yesterday so lets move on to something else.
