My son wants drums for x-mas, how do I know what to get him? Size? Kind? idk?
There are different sizes, and kinds, I don't know whats good, what would be to small? Too big? I need a musicians opinion.

You didn't mention how old he is. If he is too small for a full sized kit there are junior kits, below is a link to several. If he is big enough for a full sized kit check out the second link. Usually a kid older than 8-9 can handle an adult kit. If sound is an issue (drums are very loud) then consider electronic drums instead. They are great for beginners and can be played with headphones which is great for everyone else in the house. Check the 3rd link for an electronic set. If you buy acoustic be sure to notice whether or not they come with cymbals. If not you'll have to buy those separately. I'll include a 4th link with a beginners cymbal pack, but remember that some beginners sets do come with cymbals. It will clearly state that in the description though. Electronic sets do not require the purchase of cymbals. If you have Guitar Center in your neighborhood they can be very helpful.
