how do i get items back from a 'friend'?
basically, I had his xbox for 4 weeks. he therefore borrowed my:games, hard drive, intercooler, and 2 controllers, which was fair. He said yeterday that he would give it all back, if I gave him batteries to play with a friend. Today, however, he just SOMEHOW leant everything to the friend, and can't/won't give it to me. he says I'll have it by Monday. He is a consant liar, and I want to play halo:reach on the Tuesday. How do I get it all back? P.S I know to not lend him anything any more. thanks if you can help.

He has no permission to lend your things out so he's in the wrong according to the law. I would tell him that and tell him he has 24 hours to get them all to you before you get a court order to have him arrested for stealing. He's no longer borrowing them if you have requested them back. Now he's holding your items illeagllly against your will. Be sure all of his things are back to him. I'm guessing that he's not given them to a friend but possibly has damaged them or something and is scared to return them so this is a 'stall' on his part. Therefore give him only 24 hours and no more and alert your parents if you are a minor so that they can in turn call his parents and tell them that is what is being done. His parents need to know up front that he has your items without your permission any longer and you will take legal action if they are not returned in 24 hours. That will scare him and his parents into making sure you get them all back. He's not a friend anyway if this is what he is doing so its best to get your things and move on. Also be sure that they are not damaged in any way before he leaves your presence when they are returned. Don't let him cover up what may be by putting the damaged stuff on the bottom or something like that. Once he leaves then you find the damages you can't do anything about him paying for them. So check them all while in his presence... and be sure your parents are there for proof just in case they are damaged. If he in deed lent them out that is giving away the goods according to the law and a crime so either way he is in the wrong.
