Are there any covers of songs which you prefer to the original version?

I think a lot of people will disagree with me here but I prefer Bryan Ferry's version of Jealous Guy to John Lennon's.

Hallelujah is one of my all-time favourite songs too lol, I prefer the Jeff Buckley version though :D Or the Damien Rice one.

BQ: Most people have heard Mariah Carey's version of Without You but I prefer the Bad Finger version. AND I prefer Prince's version of Nothing Compares 2 U as well - I love Rosie's voice.

Intersting question. It really depends for me, usually I like the original better, but I really enjoy the covers that the Red Hot Chili Peppers and Rage Against The Machine do. They really make the song unique and interesting.

My Chemical Romance did a cover of Astro Zombies by The Misfits which I thought was kinda better than the original

Also, both Janis Joplin and Faith Hill did covers of Piece Of My Heart which I prefer to the original

I prefer The Beatles's version of Roll Over Beethoven to Chuck Berry's. But I still like the original.

I think MCR did a good cover of The Misfits' "Astro Zombies" (not better than the original though.)
