MUSLIM: What does your Quran say about being reconciled to God?
What does your Quran say about how a man gets recoiled to God (Allah if that works for you)?
* How does a man get his PAST sins forgiven?
* How does he know his sins are and will be forgiven?
* What does a man have to DO to keep from being `unreconciled` ? (or can a man fall out of favour with God).
** PLEASE PROVIDE VERSE FROM QURAN TO SUPPORT **
Nothing funny here, and not trying to be clever - just curious.
Thanks in advance / Brad M

CHRISTIAN: Here is my answer:
The Qur'an states that salvation is guaranteed to those whose righteous work outweighs their sins (101:6-11) and to anyone who believes in God and works righteously (34:37) but no person can know for sure that their salvation is guaranteed.
1. Past sins can be forgiven only when the sinner repents and stops repeating the sin (4:17-18, 5:39)
2. There are lots of things a Muslim can do to earn forgiveness, see (4:116, 7:29, 14:10, 20:73), but there is no guarantee of salvation. No human can be certain of his/her destiny.
3. Human beings are under the temptation of the devil throughout life. There is nothing that can be done to make one immune from the satanic influence, however, following God's guidance in the Qur'an and following the innate morality God has installed in all of us and general righteous work can keep a person on the path to God and salvation (11:114)

It depends on the sin, if it is a minor sin, then asking Allah sincerly for forgiveness, doing good deeds to cancel out the sin, and/or performing hajj (pilgrimage) will reconcile the person with God.
If it is a major sin then sincere repentance is needed. Repentance is discontinuing to do the sin, feeling sorry to Allah that you committed the sin, and taking a firm oath to not do the sin again. This does not mean that the person will not do the the sin again, just that the person at the time of repentance decides to never do the sin again.
The person has to have faith in Allah that his sins have been forgiven, he/she should not feel guilty for too long.
A person can fall out of favor with God if he commits the sin but does not think he will be punished for it.
As for the Verses:
Say: 'O My servants who have transgressed against your own souls:
do not despair of God's mercy,
for God forgives all sins.
It is He who is the Forgiving, the Merciful.'
Qur'an (39:53).
the 'say' is God telling the prophet (pbuh) to tell the verse to the people.
I'd like to thank you that you are searching for knowledge about the truth of Islam, instead of following what the media says and deeming every Muslim a terrorist.
Thank you and may peace be with you. Hope This helps

We simply pray. Unlike in other religion, Muslims are to have a connection to God directly through prayers rather than religious leaders. When we pray we bow to god and pray for forgiveness. It has been promised often in the Quran that all sins can be forgiven because Allah is all Merciful. The only sin not forgiven is if a Muslim commits shirk, polytheism.
Also the past sins of our ancestors are not our own. And thus humanity is not cursed because Adam and Eve. Allah knows humans often give into temptations and thus shall forgive. As long as you try to be your best to learn and practice the teachings of the Prophet (p.b.u.h) and the Quran you can not really "fall-out' with Allah.
There are also various to cleanse yourself of sin, for example if you go to the Hajj and do the pilgrimage all your sins are erased.
Also Allah can not forgive you if you have wronged another human being, only that person has that power.
I rather not qoute because translations can be taken out of context and I don't use English translation myself, so I suggest you buy a well-known translation of the Quran from a islamic centre/mosque and read it for yourself.
Salam

allah will forgive you IF you ask for forgiveness and you are sincere about it, and that you have intention of not doing it again. here's a good site about the verses:
http://tr1.harunyahya.com/Detail/T/EDCRFV/productI...
what i mean with intention is, when you really dont mean to do it again, and if you do it again accidentally, then you will be forgiven if you ask for it. but you cant cheat god, e.g., pork is prohibited in islam, so you can say, im going to eat it then ask for forgiveness, then the next day i'll eat it again and ask for forgiveness again, it doesnt work that way lol, we believe allah knows whats in the heart, so you cant trick him.
