2(x - 4) < 8(x + 1/2)
2x - 8 < 8x + 4
2x - 8 - 8x < 8x + 4 - 8x
-6x - 8 < 4
-6x - 8 + 8 < 4 + 8
-6x < 12
-6x/-6 > 12/-6 (Note that the inequality flipped here)
x > -2
6x^2 - 5x = 6
6x^2 - 5x - 6 = 0
6x^2 - 9x + 4x - 6 = 0
3x(2x - 3) + 2(2x - 3) = 0
(2x - 3)(3x + 2) = 0
x = 3/2, -2/3
10x^2y / (-5x^4)
-2y / x^2
I recently created a new blog. The first posts are all on factoring and solving equations. I plan on posting to this blog regularly so it is likely that there will soon be several posts that could help you with your math.

2(x - 4)< 8(x + 1/2)
2x - 8 < 8x + 4
-6x < 12
x > -2
6x^2 - 5x = 6 ( since its a quadratic am guessing that's the question
6( x^2 - 5/6 -1) = 0
therefore x= -2/3 and x=3/2 (using trial and error)
10x^2y
_______ = -2x^-2y
-5x^4
