Simplifying Equations?

I need algebra help on simplifying equations like 2b+8-b+2. Please help.

    combine the like terms

    2b + 8 - b + 2

    like terms are: 2b and -b....also 8 and 2

    = b + 10

    b + 10

    you group the Bs and the normal numbers like this:

    2b+8+b+2

    2b+b+8+2

    now here we do 2b plus b (b is like 1b) so 2+1 is 3

    so 2b+b is 3b

    and 8+2 is 10 so

    2b+8+b+2 = 3b+10

    Just combine like-terms

    Constants are for constants, variables are for variables...

    2b+8-b+2

    you could rearrange them so that you won't get confused

    (2b - b) + (8 + 2)

    b + 10 ...........answer

    2b+8+b+2

    combine like terms

    2b+b=3b

    8+2=10

    answer=3b+10

    Combine the "b" together and also the regular numbers together to get:

    3b + 10
