How come people always say just you condoms?
How come everyone always says just use a condom and you won't get into any sticky situations? i.e. unwanted pregnancies, stds and things of that nature. I am asking this question because some people think that condoms can prevent everything. They are not 100% effective (only 97% effective when used consistently and properly). What about the people that do use condoms and still get pregnant or an std?
my appologies I meant to put use instead of you.
*I am also not saying not to use condoms ever I am just asking a question because some people say condoms prevent everything always.
I am asking this because most people think that condoms are fool proof and 100% effective.

While condoms aren't 100% accurate they do a lot to prevent dangerous STDs like AIDS and HIV and pregnancy. In terms of preventing pregnancy you can increase your projection by using spermicidal condoms or lubricant and birth control. Also, it's important to take the time to learn *proper* condom use.
For the record, the pull out method doesn't work at all. Right before ejaculation the man releases a high volume of sperm which he cannot feel.

Condoms are an important part of safer sex practices to help reduce the chances of unwanted pregnancies and the transmission of various STIs. While it is certainly important to be well-educated about the need for condom. It is important to feel clear about how to use a condom before you are in the heat of the moment and really need it. Not being educated about how to properly use condoms before beginning any kind of sexual activity puts you at greater risk for using the condom incorrectly or for throwing out the idea of using one altogether because you are not feeling at that moment like you want to take that time to stop and educate yourself. So make sure that you and your partner both set aside time to educate yourselves about how to use a condom prior to being sexually active with one another.

Just for starters, both herpes and HPV can be anywhere in the "boxer area" of the individual, not just on the genitals proper. Condoms cover only the penis, so that leaves a lot of skin exposed. I can relate tale after tale of women who became infected with HPV/herpes only through heavy petting with skin-on-skin contact--no penetration at all. Condoms would NOT have prevented them from contracting these STDs.
So as far as condoms preventing 97% of pregnancies/STDs. Not buying it for one minute! So many real-life experiences say otherwise.

What about them? Not using condoms puts you 100% at risk. It's ignorant to avoid using them just because you could possibly be in the 3% of people that have condom failure. If you want to be completely safe, you don't have sex of any kind. If you do, you protect yourself as best you can, by utilizing your common sense and using condoms.

Sometimes you just gotta risk things. Typically condoms work fine, but for that 3% when they don't, well, when you have sex you know what your getting into so its your problem and you have to take responsibility.
