It does not... Once you accept the legality of ANY income tax, you accept 100%...

That it has not reached that level (though top rate exceeded 90% in the 1950ies) is only due to the lawmakers thinking, it would be counter-productive.

    LEGALLY, they can do it...

And just think, how terrific it would be! Just think about all the overhead eliminated by obsoleting the very concept of money (the root of all evil) -- no banks, no mortgages, no credit cards, no cash registers...

With taxes at 100%, the government would finally be able to provide all citizens with important things -- education, entertainment, healthcare, food, shelter for free and EQUALLY.

That's the deal slaves had on plantations, but did not like it, for some silly reason...

Sure, at some point, taxation becomes if not slavery, at least a new form of sharecropping.

Even though their is no legal limit to taxation, their is a limit in which you will have difficulty getting people to labor.

That number is disagreed upon but it is almost certainly a tax rate of less than 50% but more than 25%.

Not since the idiotic states ratified the 16th amendment.

"The Congress shall have power to lay and collect taxes on incomes, from whatever source derived, without apportionment among the several States, and without regard to any census or enumeration."

I don't think so. Of course any Government that does not know when enough is enough is liable to find itself tossed out on its rear, if necessary with a little help from the 2nd amendment. Why else would the Obama crew just love to take away peoples guns.
