Why is type 2 diabetes called " adult onset diabetes"?

"Adult Onset Diabetes" is the name that was given to Type 2 back when adults over 40 were the people who got this. Now because kids are so fat and over carbohydrated we have moved the timeline up for them.

Perhaps a name change is in order.

Don't bother flaming out on me. I will not respond. I am a Type 1 who feels little sympathy for those who get diabetes due to poor dietary choices and not genetics.

What you eat is not actually the cause of diabetes, but how you live can be. If you sit on the couch all day, your chances of developing diabetes goes up greatly.
