Does anyone have any experience with Prepaid Legal Services?

It is a typical MLM where you have to go out and recruit.

I am a tax accountant and I have never seen anyone make any money doing it though a few of my clients have tried.

The product itself is "ok" if you only need basic legal services but most attorneys won't accept it if you are in need of something beyond the basics.

As with all MLMs, you tend to become very unpopular among your friends and family. After a few months, people will literally dive through windows to avoid talking to you.

I have been a member of PPL since Oct 2008 and have received great service from the provider law firm in this area. The law firm is the 11th largest in city and principal has AV rating which is highest rating can receive. I have toured the firm and learned metrics they have to meet to retain their status as a PPL Provider Law Firm. I have saved over $2500 in the last year more than paying for the membership I have which is around $26/month including Identity Theft Shield which includes a FULL ID RESTORATION using Kroll's licensed investigators which I have not found anyother ID product that provides that. The others speak of ID Support. Kroll is another Fortune 500 company that is easily found through internet search where you will see that the SEC and Government has used them in foreign countries and with Enron.

I have used them to gain Wills, Durable Power of Attorney for Medical Directive, Adoption Tax Questions, Reviewed contracts prior to signing, etc. The response time I have received calls back from an attorney specializing in the area my question has been in has ranged from been betweeen 10 minutes and 2 hours. Heck my wife doesn't always call me back that fast:)

Full Disclosure: I was so impressed withservice and product that I became an Independent Associate. While it is true it is an MLM, there are other divisions such as Group Benefit Selling to Companies and Small Business Consulting and Legal Plans designed for Small Businesses with less than 100 employees. These are offered through GoSmallBIz.com....also easily found on internet.

It is not necessary to "recruit" others into your business to make this a full time income. However it is easier to earn more when you are leveraging the strength of others.

And it is not necessary to share and sell the product to family and friends if you choose not to. However family and friends are usually easier to see. The choice is yours as it is your business.

Your success in this business will be determined on effort you put into it just like any other sales opportunity. Sales Success is determined by the number of exposures. Very few exposures will lead to no or very little additional income while many exposures can lead to full time income.

You will also hear negatives from those that are stuck in a state of "Blissful Ignorance" due to a lack of information and their own perceptions.
