My computer won't get to the desktop screen because of file checking?
Every time I turn on my computer it'll load to the hp logo then go to a screen that tells me it is doing a file system check for consistency. This finishes then goes to the loading screen after the hp logo screen but after trying to load for about 5 minutes it goes back to the file system check and does that over and over again, what do i do to get my computer to work again?

Sounds like your hard drive is about to crash. the file check is triggered by problems with the file allocation table, and the fact that it does it over and over indicates that the problem area is growing.

Put your Operating Cd into your computer (xp,Vista,W7) and change the boot order to Cd on your bios then from there you have to click on the repair option.
if your computer didnt come with a cd there should be a reset feature but they are all differnt
