Divorce in NYS without knowing where spouse resides?

I am trying to file for divorce from my husband. We have a son in common, but I have final custody papers awarding sole custody to me. I have attempted to summons him for child support, but he took off from his mothers house and is in Kentucky somewhere. I have no address, phone number or email to get a hold of him or provide for my lawyer to serve him with papers. Is there a way to file for a divorce without his signature if there is no way to contact him?

Update:

i havent spoken to my lawyer yet. just stressing out about it and want to know if anyone knows HOW to go about it...not ask my lawyer...i cant get into his office for another week 1/2 and im too anxious to wait that long to get answers.

Yes. If you lawyer does not know how to do it, get a new lawyer.
