Why are people of Indian culture referred to as "red"?

How about Asians as "yellow"? Does the color green represent any culture?

It probably has something to do with their skin color.

Asians have a skin color that has a yellow tint to it.

Caucasians have a skin color that has a white tint to it.

Indians a red tint to their skin color

African-Americans a black tint to their skin.

I don't believe green denotes a race or culture.

Stupid, isn't it? Native Americans aren't red, Asians aren't yellow, white people are not the color (or lack of color) white and black people are usually some shade of brown. Green? The only culture I can think of that's green is the cultivation of bacteria, tissue cells, etc., in an artificial medium.

Very few American Indians are actually a red color (though sunburn can add that tint). They are brownish. Asians are Olive.

Jaundice (a liver condition I think) can cause a lot of people to look yellowish.

There is a tribe of American Indians who are actually blueish. I've only met one and don't remember the tribal name though.

People have also used paints to make their skin certain colors as well as using muds and clays.

I think it is mostly just a prejudice anymore though.

Why are blacks called blacks and whites white? Because of their skin color. (Although blacks should be browns and whites peaches)

A lot of Native Americans do have red skin and use a lot of red face&body paint anyways.

The "yellow" asian isn't as noticiable, but when they're not healthy (I'm not sure what causes it) they do seem to have a bit of a waxy yellow appearance.

There's no green or blue obviously.

Actually we are all beige. Some just a dark beige, some a medium beige and like me a light beige.

Not as noticeable, but it's there.

This was a pretty obvious question....
