My windows 7 got infected with a virus :( pls help?
I use a windows 7 laptop. Right as I was busy on facebook and on msn messenger, everything shut down and I got a notification saying I have been infected with a Trojan virus. Now I tried fixing it but it didnt work, and then it suggested other antivirus programmes for me to download in order to fix the problem. AVG, Symantec or other top programmes were included but did not detect the virus. But the ones that detected the virus, ive never heard of and i downloaded one of them.. and now i did but i have to pay $100 to upgrade and delete the virus. I'm confused!
I cant use my laptop because after I restarted it thinking it would solve the problem, the screen is all black and i have no choice but to pay for the antivirus cos its the only thing that shows up..
help.. i dont know whats wrong.. is this thing common? It wont let me use my pc, even if theres a virus on it..
thats the thing.. i dont have access to anything.. i restarted my pc and everything went all blank.. i cant do a thing :/

Antispyware safeguard is a scam. Try this to get rid of it :
1. Reboot into safe mode with networking. If it does not work, continue anyway
2 .Open Internet Explorer, choose Tools menu and select Internet Options.
3. Click on the Connections tab and then on the LAN Settings button. Uncheck the checkbox labeled Use a proxy server for your LAN under the Proxy Server section and press OK.
4. Then start task manager or process explorer (http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/sysinternals/bb... ) and stop all processes that are like combination of random letters. If it fails, continue anyway, or check this guide : http://www.2-viruses.com/remove-antispy-safeguard for more specific names
5. Start MSConfig and disable all startup entries that launch processes from within your user directory, for example App Data folder... You might need to reboot after this step, to safe mode with networking again.
6. Download good anti-malware tool like spyware doctor or malwarebytes. Scan with it, and delete stuff it finds (if it wont remove it itself).
7. Reboot.

yes, this is typical of a bad virus. Stops letting you run programs and tells you to buy programs for money
The only thing that i know that will get rid of it is a rescue cd from a antivirus, which cleans the pc with a cd . One example is kasperky Internet Security. You have to buy it in a store or online and then use the rescue cd to disinfect pc. It cos about $60 but brand new pc's cost more.
Plus you'll be protected from then on

first of all try a system restore to prior this happening, with windows 7 any programs that were not on your laptop on that date will disappear, so it has the potential to remove trojans? Not saying it will but, take it back, then download malwarebytes>install >update definitons>quick scan, follow up with full scan. I have used Norton Products since 2000 and it they haven't failde me yet, currently using Norton Internet Security 2010 and Malwarebytes (purchased) as a back up and thats it. I don't use msn of Fb, they are trouble spots for infections. Full scans with malwarebytes can take up to 45 minutes for 160 GB drive pending on resourses, and if definitions are upto date do it off line?

DONT PAY THEM, its a scam!!!!!! You didnt have a virus, now you do because you downloaded this faulty program. It just wants to steal your credit card info. Restart in safe mode (press F8 within the first 8 seconds of start up) and then go to filehippo.com type in malware bytes in the search bar and download it. Run it while in safe mode. After its done remove the viruses and then restart in regular mode, and scan again just to be safe :D
