I need some motorcycle information?
Ok, I'm currently 15 years old and planning to buy a motorcycle next spring/summer. I would like to know what type of motorcycle you would recommend? I want one that looks like a good sport bike but is comfortable and fits 2 people. How big of an engine would you recommend? Is there a brand you like best? How should I go about buying one? Should I go to a dealer or eBay motors or local classifieds? For insurance, should I go with AAA with my parents> or another company with only me? What kind of coverage should I have (I plan on having a pretty good job)? How should I tell my parents I'm looking to buy a motorcycle? Ok, so I need some model suggestions, here is the type of bike I want: Fits 2 people, good speed and accel, looks like a sweet fast bike, good for a beginner, not too expensive, fits someone 6ft 200lbs! Thanks so much!

Well, you can rule out the small bike already. If you weigh 200 and you have a passenger, you better find something with 100+ HP. Big bike, Buy insurance from anybody but geico, progressive is good but they support the ACLU, It should mean something to everybody. Your first year will be expensive, but it goes down every year. Mine started out at $800, geico wanted $1200, I now pay $120 a year for 2 bikes, full coverage, I don't even take the key out anymore, I don't care. I'll get a new bike, take it. If you buy on ebay, do not buy without seeing it first. i bought one on ebay sight unseen, total wreck, totally the opposite of what he said, and I got stuck. Ebay offered me $75 for my $3900 loss. I will get that scum one day. I got no idea what bike you should get, i would think a Royal star or one of those big Suzukis type bikes, don't waste your time with a harley, they are trash. Honda's are trash, they rust overnight. You'll get a lot of people who swear by harley and honda, but I have had both. No thanks. I have 2 Ducati monsters in my garage. One is my wife's, the big one is mine, i bought it just for her to ride with me because she weighs more than the 750 could handle, plenty of power, doesn't rust, all stainless and aluminum. light weight, fast, looks great, some people don't like the ride, but you are young, it shouldn't bother you. They are affordable, A 10 year old S4 with 15,000 miles will run $5,000. Very collectible, and desirable. Check 'em out.

Get a used beat up 600 for the first year of riding-something that you can pay for in cash. That will ease the burden of the insurance a little because there is no note on it.AAA(been a member since 1970)will not insure your sportbike, they have a list of banned bikes they will not cover and most sportbikes are on the list. They wanted to insure my v-star but not my sportbike--so long AAA you lost that one.I don't think you should ride anyone till you learn how to ride safely first.Get a used bike first and remember that there are all kinds of new people wanting to learn like you-so don't worry about getting rid of the used bike, there will always be someone willing to take it off your hands-then use that money to make your next purchase. As far as your parents are concerned--go lock yourself in the family freezer for an hour or so cause then you will know what a cold day in he** really means.LOL good luck

Get any notions of going fast with 2 people out of your head first off.
Get your motorcycle permit. Then take an MSF course to learn the basics.
Used 250cc Ninja would be an excellent first bike.
Low cost maintenance, low insurance rates, great gas mileage, very lightweight, etc.
Unless you actually have money to spend on insurance, getting the bike under your parents name would net you much better rates.
Full Medical/collision/comprehensive insurance are a must.
Bring it up at dinner or if you see a bike riding in the car with them.
As for where to buy, Try craigslist.

You are asking for allott. With your size and your demands you are looking for a bike that experanced riders have. My best advice is get a good dirtbike n go learn the in's and outs before you jump on horse power or you WILL hit the pavement
