Making Greek yogurt: Why isn't it draining?

I'm making Greek yogurt from fat-free, plain yogurt. I've put it in a colander over coffee filters and placed the colander in a large bowl. The colander is well above the bottom of the bowl. It's been in the fridge for nearly seven hours now, but there still isn't any liquid at the bottom of the bowl. What am I doing wrong?

My mother in law used to do it outside of the refrigerator. The cold slows down the process where as room temp yogurt will lose water a lot quicker. I don't think that spoilage is an issue because yogurt has a high acid content.

Yeah, do it at room temperature and use cheese cloth. This will extract the liquid out of the yogurt to make it thick and yummy.
