How will the fundamentalist Christian south react when social conservatism is no longer a factor in elections?

I think they will as always respect others and continue to follow their christian faith... The government is not what makes them believers... The believers are the ones that lend a guiding hand to the government...

The way I see it, the only way for social issues to no longer have any influence in federal elections will be for the Sup. Ct. of the US to stop injecting itself into the way that the states handle those issues. After all, public school prayer was never an issue for federal legislators to talk about until the 1962 SC ruling; abortion was an issue that was left to the states until 1973; and so on.

I live in the Midwest. I established that I was not a factor in the elections, a long time ago.

Depending on where a person lives, that is already the case. I don't think their reaction will be any more or less than it is now.
