What can I break in figure skating?
I am working on FreeSkate Gold (the "sequel" to SkateUK). In my biology class last week, my teacher was going through some of the bones in our bodies and saying in which sports when you are likely to break them. It made me wonder what I might break in figure skating. How and what bones are the most common bones to break at my level of figure skating?

Broken bones are actually pretty uncommon in skating at any level. You are most likely to break your wrist, because it is a delicate bone that a lot of force is put on if you break your fall with your wrist. Other bones can be broken if you fight a fall too hard, but this is more common in beginners and public skaters. Broken ankles can occur when the blade gets stuck in the ice and the ankle keeps rotating.
You should be more concerned about breaking a bone in a car wreck (my coach broke her foot in a car wreck), or slipping in the shower, or any number of normal life activities.

arms are pretty common, ankles too
most of the time you don't break bones, you get conncusions or you stab your self with your blade, or tear some muscles

Hmm. :]
Don't let this scare you, but, honestly, anything can be broken depending on what you're doing. On a spiral, you might break a leg, because of the pressure from the gliding and the point of your toe pick. You might also break your foot in any move. :] In a jump, you might break your tailbone or back, but legs and arms are also common, depending on where you land. :]
Hope I helped, lol. :)
