Chocolate cookie recipe?
So heres the deal I was really wanting to make chocolate cookies this afternoon (note: chocolate not chocolate-chip). The problem is I don't have that much cocoa left - maybe 4/5 tbs. I also have about 2 cups buttermilk I need to use up and no shortening or regular milk. I have plenty of butter, eggs, sugar, flour and vanilla though. Does anyone have a recipe that will work with what I have? I have been scouring the internet to no avail. I would also be willing to make brownies or maybe a cake.

Cookies wouldn't use your buttermilk and all of my cookie recipes and brownies use unsweetened baking chocolate.
Here is a recipe for a cake which would use the ingredients you have. It asks for 1/2 cup of cocoa but you could just use what you have and the cake would be more like a German Chocolate cake.
CHOCOLATE BUTTERMILK CAKE
1 c. butter (2 sticks butter)
2 1/4 c. sugar
2 eggs
1 tsp. vanilla
2 c. buttermilk
1/2 c. cocoa
3 c. flour, sifted
2 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. salt
Cream butter; add sugar gradually and beat until fluffy. Add eggs one at a time, then add vanilla. Sift dry ingredients together and add alternately with buttermilk to creamed mixture. Pour batter into 3 (9 inch) layer pans which have been lightly greased and floured. bake in preheated oven at 350 degrees for 25 to 30 minutes. Remove from oven and cool in pan 5 to 8 minutes. Finish cooling on racks then frost with the following (or your favorite icing).
